Brevoy

Brevoy

Brevoy is the nation that the players hail from, and is detailed in the Player’s Guide. Briefly, it consists of two regions: Issia and Rostland. These regions were united a little over two centuries by Choral the Conqueror who founded House Rogarvia to rule Brevoy. Ten years ago every last member of House Rogarvia disappeared overnight. Now tensions between Issia and Rostland are growing, and the Swordlords of the free city of Restov in Rostland have chartered four groups of explorers to venture in the Stolen Lands. Their hope is to secure their southern border against the bandits and monsters that currently dominate the Stolen Lands, and possibly create new allied nations that can help them should the tensions with Issia break into open conflict.

Brevoy is a northern land of short summers and long winters. The north is a rugged land of rocky soil while the south is more gentle and fertile. The north has access to plentiful stone for building, but the south is mineral poor and most of the southern cities are largely of timber construction, with even some roads made of wooden planks in the capital of New Stetven.

Religion in Brevoy centers around three main deities: Abadar is favored by the merchant class, Gorum is favored by the nobility, and Pharasma is favored by the commoners. Erastil has a following in the more rural areas, and while outlawed, followers of Lamashtu can be found hidden throughout the nation. Most other deities of Golarion have adherents in the nation, but they tend to be few.

Politics centers around the six remaining noble houses and the Swordlords. The houses include Garess, Lebeda, Lodovka, Medvyed, Orlovsky, and Surtova.
